My dear wife
I have been overwhelmed with business for five or six days. Every body on the creek is getting sick and besides I have had a great deal of Company, intended to go to you last night, but was prevented by an important business matter.
I am just starting to Rome to see a patient of Dr Holmes, in consultation will be back here at 10 oclock tonight will come tomorrow and bring you all home. The train is leaving. God Bless you. I love you.
