A walking cane of swirled blue and green glass that came from Mrs. Addie Saylor of Barnsley Gardens, a descendant of Godfrey Barnsley. The cane was said to have originally belonged to Godfrey Barnsley.
In the mid 1800s glass was very precious and expensive. The cane was not only expensive because it was glass, but also treasured because it showed a glass maker's skill.
The cane is 1" thick at the handle and tapers to 1/4" thick at the bottom tip.
